Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Valdomiro Cearense started the match with the kick off. Leopoldo Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Leopoldo Berger fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desportiva Unida's protests and gave Leopoldo Berger a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cariry booed when Desportiva Unida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chicão Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Berger in the 10th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopoldo Berger in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chicão Hermes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 20th minute Leopoldo Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute Yan de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan de Amaral in the 26th minute of play forced Cariry's goalkeeper Chicão Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Cariry's Edmílson Quirino seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edmílson Quirino the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cariry protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edmílson Quirino had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cariry! Chicão Hermes went to the wrong direction when Luan Prado was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 33 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Berger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Chicão Hermes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frank de Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank de Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 39 minutes into the match, Cariry's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Berger came free, but Chicão Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yan de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Chicão Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cariry's Chicão Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yan de Amaral in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Cariry's goal looked a bit too open when Yan de Amaral came free, but Chicão Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute Yan de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Desportiva Unida were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leopoldo Berger made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Desportiva Unida's Leopoldo Berger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Chicão Hermes. That made the score 0-2 after 52 minutes of play. Leopoldo Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chicão Hermes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leopoldo Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. Douglas Pires hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. If Yan de Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yan de Amaral got free with Chicão Hermes in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chicão Hermes was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Leopoldo Berger capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Leopoldo Berger really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. The audience was convinced that Leopoldo Berger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chicão Hermes was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. 71 minutes into the match, Cariry's goalkeeper Chicão Hermes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yan de Amaral. After 76th play minutes Yan de Amaral shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Chicão Hermes and just under the crossbar into goal. Cariry's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Leopoldo Berger scored to the left of an out of position Chicão Hermes, making the score, 0-5. When Douglas Pires fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desportiva Unida's protests and gave Douglas Pires a yellow card for diving instead. Chicão Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomás Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Leopoldo Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportiva Unida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leopoldo Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Hermes having to interfere. The Cariry fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Desportiva Unida were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
