Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Valdomiro Cearense started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Palmeiras AC's Eduardo Ramalho couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cariry. After 12 played minutes Cariry got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Pena. After 22 minutes, Enio Fantini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmeiras AC and the Cariry players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cariry booed when Palmeiras AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmílson Quirino was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Chicão Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubens Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Cariry's Valdomiro Cearense slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulinho Vinhas. That made the score 2-0 after 29 minutes of play. 32 minutes into the match, Palmeiras AC's goal looked a bit too open when Valdomiro Cearense came free, but Paulinho Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Palmeiras AC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Severino Rossi hit a great ball. Ismael Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Chicão Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chicão Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubens Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Paulinho Vinhas made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Marcelinho Sergipano sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rubens Proença to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Cariry's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Proença came free, but Chicão Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rubens Proença struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Chicão Hermes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras AC. Marcelinho Sergipano might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulinho Vinhas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelinho Sergipano ran back to his position shaking his head. When Severino Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras AC's protests and gave Severino Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmeiras AC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Severino Rossi hit a great ball. Cariry's Chicão Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Proença in the 78th minute of play. Paulinho Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valdomiro Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cariry's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
