Spectators: 7223 (Terracing: 5419, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. César das Neves started the match with the kick off. Válbson de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Branco having to interfere. Benjamim Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Veiga having to interfere. In the 9th minute, one of Bentopolis:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bentopolis. 18 minutes into the match, César Carvalho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luís Paulo Branco, 1-1. Benjamim Xavier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oscar Arantes during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, one of Band R.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Band R.C. When the match had been going on for 36 minutes, Bentopolis's José Paulo Velasco got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Luís Paulo Branco. After having played for 41 minutes, Benjamim Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Band R.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamim Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Bentopolis getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Nilton de Moraes hit a great ball. César das Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emerson Veiga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. César das Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 45th minute Benjamim Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell César Carvalho to make the kick off. Bentopolis's Emerson Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César das Neves in the 52nd minute of play. Emerson Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of César das Neves's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Dráuzio Travassos hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If César das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís Paulo Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bentopolis! César Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Luís Paulo Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Bentopolis getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. José Paulo Velasco hit a great ball. A hard shot by Oscar Arantes from long distance, 80 minutes into the match, got Emerson Veiga's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 86th match minute, Band R.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Lopez to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the match, Válbson de Salles notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Band R.C's Luís Paulo Branco. Luís Paulo Branco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
