Álvaro Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bentopolis. A collision led to Vaxco da Grana getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Reginaldo Cordeiro hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, César Carvalho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Álvaro Nunes. César Carvalho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Vaxco da Grana's Dorin Ailioaiei got a free kick in the 19th minute. Vaxco da Grana's Álvaro Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Carvalho in the 21st minute of play. After 24 minutes of play, Vaxco da Grana's Reginaldo Cordeiro made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emerson Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dorin Ailioaiei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Veiga having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Válbson de Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bentopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Válbson de Salles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vaxco da Grana's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Válbson de Salles scored to the left of an out of position Álvaro Nunes, making the score, 2-1. Bentopolis's César Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Válbson de Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After a defensive mix-up in Bentopolis's zone, Dorin Ailioaiei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson Veiga came out of the goal and Dorin Ailioaiei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Válbson de Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Álvaro Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute Válbson de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Álvaro Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Dorin Ailioaiei came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Vaxco da Grana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorin Ailioaiei couldn't finish the play. Nilton de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Álvaro Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson de Salles in the 82nd minute of play. César Carvalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro Nunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. César Carvalho ran back to his position shaking his head. Dorin Ailioaiei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Emerson Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Bentopolis booed when Vaxco da Grana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, José Paulo Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bentopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but José Paulo Velasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Álvaro Nunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Vaxco da Grana getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Reginaldo Cordeiro hit a great ball. César Carvalho succeeded in the game's 93rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vaxco da Grana players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bentopolis.
