The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vito Sabóia in the 5th minute of play forced Itajuipe EC's goalkeeper Boruc Motowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boruc Motowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Insanos FC's Dorian Lima was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Boruc Motowski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Dorian Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itajuipe EC's Boruc Motowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Sabóia in the 13th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Alexsandro Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itajuipe EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexsandro Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aloísio do Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilberto Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Boruc Motowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Insanos FC's Dorian Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dorian Lima came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Insanos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorian Lima couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexsandro Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dorian Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boruc Motowski having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Itajuipe EC's zone, Vito Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boruc Motowski came out of the goal and Vito Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vito Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vito Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Dorian Lima made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 95thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Boruc Motowski would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Vito Sabóia struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Boruc Motowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Insanos FC. Vito Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Boruc Motowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Insanos FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
