An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Torres in the 6th minute of play forced Flamengo SSA's goalkeeper Túlio Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flamengo SSA's Túlio Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Torres in the 8th minute of play. Dorian Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Túlio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Edvaldo Torres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Insanos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Edvaldo Torres came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Insanos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvaldo Torres couldn't finish the play. Túlio Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorian Lima in the 22nd minute of the match. Aloísio do Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Túlio Santana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elder Torres made a kick off. Edvaldo Torres struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Túlio Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Insanos FC. Edvaldo Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Túlio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flamengo SSA's Gualter de Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edvaldo Torres hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Elder Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Insanos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elder Torres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Túlio Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toninho Valladares took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aloísio do Valle. Aloísio do Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Elder Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edvaldo Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Túlio Santana made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Dorian Lima sent off a good shot on target. Elder Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Santana having to interfere. Ediberto Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Insanos FC booed when Flamengo SSA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Insanos FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Flamengo SSA.
