In the 6th match minute, Tumiritinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Barreto to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Dedé Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the game, Flamengo SSA's Gualter de Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adriano Maciel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Dedé Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 27 minutes, Haroldo Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tumiritinga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adriano Maciel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Danilo Favoretto. In the 34th minute Haroldo Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gualter de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot by Danilo Favoretto from long distance, 42 minutes into the match, got Adriano Maciel's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Haroldo Sousa made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flamengo SSA's goalkeeper Túlio Santana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gualter de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Adriano Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gualter de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho Borges hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Flamengo SSA were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Tumiritinga's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cássio do Valle took the corner. The corner led Flamengo SSA's Cauã de Salles to fire away a dangerous shot which Adriano Maciel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gualter de Andrade in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adriano Maciel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 90 minutes into the game, Flamengo SSA's Toninho Valladares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adriano Maciel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Gualter de Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adriano Maciel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gualter de Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Flamengo SSA had won after a very even match.
