The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gonçalo Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aloísio Cordeiro in the 3rd minute of play. After 8 played minutes Zion F.C got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Cardoso. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Lucas during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The long shot by Lenílson Terra in the 11th minute really tested Orlando Melo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Zion F.C's Christian Lucas got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute Aloísio Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Renato Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Zion F.C getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Cardoso hit a great ball. Fiori Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Orlando Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Zion F.C's goalkeeper Orlando Melo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Renato Oliveira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Lucas in the 28th minute of play forced STARK EC's goalkeeper Gonçalo Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeferson Leite might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gonçalo Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeferson Leite ran back to his position shaking his head. When Christian Lucas came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Zion F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Lucas couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute Jeferson Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. STARK EC's Fiori Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The STARK EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Zion F.C were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aloísio Cordeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, STARK EC's goal looked a bit too open when Aloísio Cordeiro came free, but Gonçalo Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orlando Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fiori Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in STARK EC's zone, Jeferson Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonçalo Amaral came out of the goal and Jeferson Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jeferson Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 minutes of play, STARK EC's Fiori Borges made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Orlando Melo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, STARK EC's Mateus Bezerra got a free kick in the 80th minute. Aloísio Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Aloísio Cordeiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gonçalo Amaral. The goal made the score 1-2. Orlando Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Renato Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lenílson Terra during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for STARK EC! When the match had been going on for 96 minutes, Zion F.C's José Carvalho got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gonçalo Amaral. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Zion F.C eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
