Caldeira FC:s Amadeu Guerra showed great skill when he stopped Aníbal Trigo:s penalty. Amadeu Guerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aníbal Trigo went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Juan Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Caldeira FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Guerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Machado. When Ismael Vaz fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caldeira FC's protests and gave Ismael Vaz a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 played minutes Caldeira FC got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Vaz. 18 minutes into the match, Limeira's Aníbal Trigo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Anderson Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Sandro Quadros's late challenge caught a Limeira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anderson Gomes thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Amadeu Guerra, a very annoying self made goal in the 41st minute which led to 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Sá was the one to do the kick off. When Benê Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Amadeu Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Amadeu Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Rosado in the 94th minute of play. A collision led to Limeira getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Aníbal Paraibano hit a great ball. The Limeira players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
