Aracazinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olavo Donato was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Jardel Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho da Mata in the 16th minute of play. Enio Tasso charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enio Tasso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, AS Novelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Tasso to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Aracazinho's Wágner Koehler tried to score from far away in the 19th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Aracazinho's Jorginho da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jardel Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Jorginho da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute, Jorginho da Mata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aracazinho's Jorginho da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Jorginho da Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aracazinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho da Mata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jardel Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jardel Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho da Mata in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jorginho da Mata to strike the kick off in the second half. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jardel Montenegro. Richard Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Jardel Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Donato in the 64th minute of play forced Aracazinho's goalkeeper Simão Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Jardel Montenegro made a huge save. Jardel Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho da Mata in the 68th minute of play. If Richard Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho da Mata in the 73rd minute of play forced AS Novelli's goalkeeper Jardel Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, AS Novelli's goalkeeper Jardel Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard Neves. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olavo Donato in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simão Cardozo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorginho da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jorginho da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jardel Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho da Mata in the 95th minute of the match. Enio Tasso got his second yellow card in the match during the 97th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Enio Tasso hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Aracazinho players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
