After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Mauro Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rubros's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Oséias Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when SantasticoJovemFC's Bebeto Domingues in the 80th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Adalberto Pires was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Rubros through an amazing save. Adalberto Pires stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bebeto Domingues's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Rubros's Mauro Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mauro Secco struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Reynaldo Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rubros.
