In the 34th minute, FLAMONT FC.'s Nico Abreu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Alberto Linhares. Carlos Alberto Linhares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 37th minute Lauro Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Arantes's late challenge caught a Sabadini's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. FLAMONT FC.'s Oswaldo Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save FLAMONT FC. from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lauro Tinoco got free with Oswaldo Ribeiro in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 79 minutes, Benedito Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sabadini and the FLAMONT FC. players grew even worse after the yellow card.
