Spectators: 7209 (Terracing: 5410, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 140) GSA04's Serafim Lima started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Moraes in the 6th minute of play forced GSA04's goalkeeper Fernandão de Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Luiz Fernando Esteves fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GSA04's protests and gave Luiz Fernando Esteves a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes GSA04 got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando Esteves. 9 minutes into the match, GSA04's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto de Mendonça came free, but Fernandão de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauro Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandão de Sousa having to interfere. Benê Macedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adalberto Pires came out and tried to block the shot, but Benê Macedo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benê Macedo got free with Adalberto Pires in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oséias Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Dráuzio Cordeiro hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Rubros's Christiano Melo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Fernandão de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in GSA04's zone, Mauro Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandão de Sousa came out of the goal and Mauro Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benê Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Pires having to interfere. Mauro Secco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandão de Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Fernandão de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mauro Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Benê Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laércio Moraes to strike the kick off in the second half. Fernandão de Sousa was a little too slow when Laércio Moraes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 2-1. Rubros's Laércio Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Christiano Melo hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Laércio Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio Moraes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernandão de Sousa having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Rubros's zone, Benê Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adalberto Pires came out of the goal and Benê Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Laércio Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benê Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Pires having to interfere. After some careless play in the Rubros defense, Benê Macedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adalberto Pires. The Rubros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adalberto Pires should have stopped the shot. Rubros's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because GSA04 had won, even though Rubros had held more of the ball.
