Spectators: 7232 (Terracing: 5426, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Serafim Lima started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benê Macedo in the 10th minute of play forced Monlevade's goalkeeper José Paulo França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás Custódio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15th minute, Monlevade's José Paulo Lucas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, José Paulo Lucas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fernandão de Sousa, 2-0. 22 minutes into the match, GSA04's goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo Lucas came free, but Fernandão de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If José Paulo Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 played minutes GSA04 got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando Esteves. Thomás Custódio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Fernandão de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. GSA04's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when José Paulo Lucas scored to the left of an out of position Fernandão de Sousa, making the score, 3-0. Fernandão de Sousa made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Thomás Custódio sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the GSA04 defense, José Paulo Lucas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernandão de Sousa. The GSA04 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernandão de Sousa should have stopped the shot. In the 47th minute, José Paulo Lucas fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Paulo Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Monlevade's Ramiro Neiva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernandão de Sousa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Monlevade reached it. Fernandão de Sousa came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Monlevade's José Paulo Lucas. But to his dismay, José Paulo Lucas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After having played for 60 minutes, Thomás Custódio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monlevade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomás Custódio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, GSA04's goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo Lucas came free, but Fernandão de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Fernando Esteves's late challenge caught a Monlevade's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 64th minute, José Paulo Lucas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Monlevade's Cléber de Amorim suffered a sprained foot after 65 minutes and couldn't finish the game. During the 66th minute of the match Luiz Fernando Esteves completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luiz Fernando Esteves a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. José Paulo Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandão de Sousa having to interfere. Fernandão de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomás Custódio in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Monlevade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Monlevade's José Paulo França proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Monlevade from getting a goal against them.
