Cléber de Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. Cléber de Amorim hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute of the match Luiz Gustavo Cabral shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Paulo França showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thomás Custódio's late challenge caught a Sabadini's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sabadini's Carlos Alberto Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomás Custódio in the 30th minute of play. If Edmílson Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. José Paulo Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 36 minutes, Thomás Custódio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monlevade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomás Custódio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Monlevade's zone, Lauro Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Paulo França came out of the goal and Lauro Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Elias Ferraz came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Sabadini fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Ferraz couldn't finish the play. Sabadini's Carlos Alberto Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Lucas in the 45th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Paulo Lucas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sabadini's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Linhares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Paulo Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Carlos Alberto Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lauro Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo França having to interfere. When Sabadini's Lauro Tinoco in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Monlevade's goalie prevented a goal. Thomás Custódio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Carlos Alberto Linhares made a huge save. José Paulo Lucas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Sabadini's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Linhares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomás Custódio. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
