After a rather tough play, Saideira Futebol Clube's Richard Castro got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Domingues in the 34th minute of play forced Saideira Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Cristian Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saideira Futebol Clube's Caio Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Augusto Schmidt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. If Pedro Augusto Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bebeto Domingues made a kick off.
