Clube Atlético Serrano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldinho Perez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Naldo Gerber blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silas de Queirós having to make a save. Sílvio Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Nogueira having to interfere. Jardel Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Mendonça in the 58th minute of the match. Osvaldinho Perez struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Jardel Nogueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atlético Serrano. After 63 minutes, Naldo Gerber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tartaruga AD and the Clube Atlético Serrano players grew even worse after the yellow card. Naldo Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match.
