With an all-out effort, Cannavieiras's Mateus Paranaense threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arnaldo Vieira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Arnaldo Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateus Paranaense having to interfere. Mateus Paranaense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Betão Chaves in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes Prainhas AD got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio Vinhas. The supporters of Prainhas AD booed when Cannavieiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betão Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Rony Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Prainhas AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rony Capixaba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vito Brito's late challenge caught a Cannavieiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vito Brito helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes Prainhas AD got a freekick which was hit by Vito Brito. With a little luck, Prainhas AD's Mateus Paranaense got control of the ball when Betão Chaves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in Prainhas AD's zone, Arnaldo Vieira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateus Paranaense came out of the goal and Arnaldo Vieira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mateus Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes, Eduardo Meira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Prainhas AD and the Cannavieiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 69 minutes, Betão Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cannavieiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betão Chaves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But to his dismay, Betão Chaves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Albertinho Guimarães fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cannavieiras's protests and gave Albertinho Guimarães a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cannavieiras's Albertinho Guimarães got a free kick in the 86th minute. After 89 minutes, Eriberto Gomes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Prainhas AD and the Cannavieiras players grew even worse after the yellow card.
