But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Pinho couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute Sebastião Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Severo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Pinho in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to Paradox FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Dênis da Costa hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Cotias FC's Matheus Tinoco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Diego Brodel. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. Ronaldão Bittencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Diego Brodel made a huge save. Tony Severo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Aírton Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matheus Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paradox FC's Diego Brodel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Paradox FC from getting a goal against them. Ronaldão Bittencourt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Diego Brodel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 47 minutes in the game, Matheus Tinoco fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Diego Brodel having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in Paradox FC's zone, Matheus Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Brodel came out of the goal and Matheus Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Evaristo Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Sebastião Pinho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony Severo. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 93rd match minute, Cotias FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton Moura to maneuver through the defense. If Sebastião Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Paradox FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
