Spectators: 6661 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Maurício Quadros made the kick off which started today's match. Cotias FC's Ronaldão Bittencourt got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Severo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurício Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jânio Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Severo having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Sérgio Torres suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Mazinho Silva's late challenge caught a Fontinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mazinho Silva helped the player get up and apologised. If Jânio Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matheus Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th match minute, Cotias FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton Moura to maneuver through the defense. Cotias FC's Tony Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Moreira in the 39th minute of play. Jânio Moreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Severo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jânio Moreira ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matheus Tinoco to make the kick off. Frédson Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matheus Tinoco in the 52nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ronaldão Bittencourt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frédson Queirós was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. When Cotias FC's Matheus Tinoco in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to Fontinha getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Róbson da Costa hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Ronaldão Bittencourt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frédson Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 81 minutes into the match, Fontinha's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldão Bittencourt came free, but Frédson Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frédson Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matheus Tinoco in the 84th minute of play. Ronaldão Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Frédson Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Matheus Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Cotias FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matheus Tinoco couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd match minute, Fontinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erivaldo Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. If Matheus Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cotias FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
