A collision led to EC Guará - FPEMZ getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cido Favoretto hit a great ball. Cotias FC's Tony Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kauã dos Santos in the 11th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Paulo José Xavier reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony Severo. The goal made the score 1-0. Ronaldão Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldão Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torgeir Lie having to interfere. Torgeir Lie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matheus Tinoco in the 23rd minute of play. Aírton Moura hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Cotias FC's Tony Severo got control of the ball when Paulo José Xavier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulo José Xavier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Severo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Paulo José Xavier could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Tony Severo however easily saved by the left post. Tony Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kauã dos Santos in the 36th minute of the match. If Paulo José Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kauã dos Santos was extremely unlucky when he, in the 43rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 45th minute, Paulo José Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th minute Kauã dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kauã dos Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Cotias FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Kauã dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Guará - FPEMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Kauã dos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Severo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Cotias FC defense, Kauã dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Severo. The Cotias FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Severo should have stopped the shot. Tony Severo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. EC Guará - FPEMZ fully deserved thier win.
