The supporters of Membeca EC booed when Ajacio SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doni Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto do Valle might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Paulo Damião. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto do Valle ran back to his position shaking his head. When Valdomiro Rosa came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Membeca EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdomiro Rosa couldn't finish the play. If Reinaldo Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ajacio SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
