In the 9th minute Donato Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Santa AD defense, José Vítor Britto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abel Perez. The Santa AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Perez should have stopped the shot. Abel Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Abel Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Magalhães succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. If Donato Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Abel Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Santa AD's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Vides came free, but Abel Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Talvez Venceremos FC fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Talvez Venceremos FC's Francisco de Queiroz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Talvez Venceremos FC's Francisco de Queiroz in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 57th minute, one of Talvez Venceremos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Talvez Venceremos FC. Ademir Recife had in the 60thth minute some difficulties stopping Raimundo Albuquerque's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 61 minutes of play, Santa AD's Filipe Dantas made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ademir Recife was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 64th minute, Denílson de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Francisco de Queiroz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abel Perez was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Francisco de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 70th minute, José Vítor Britto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Talvez Venceremos FC's Francisco de Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Gualter Brasil made a precise shot to the right of Ademir Recife. Talvez Venceremos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. 77 minutes into the game, Talvez Venceremos FC's Francisco de Queiroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abel Perez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-4. After a defensive mix-up in Santa AD's zone, Francisco de Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Perez came out of the goal and Francisco de Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abel Perez came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Talvez Venceremos FC's José Vítor Britto. But to his dismay, José Vítor Britto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-5. After a rather tough play, Talvez Venceremos FC's Cesinha de Amaral got a free kick in the 89th minute. Ademir Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorian Leite in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santa AD's goalkeeper Abel Perez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abel Perez stood somewhat misplaced when Francisco de Queiroz came free in front of goal and shot 4-6 to the left of him in the 96 minute. Talvez Venceremos FC played a much better game than Santa AD and deserved their victory. The Santa AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
