Spectators: 6661 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Aloísio Fernandez took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Cícero Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montes Claros FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cícero Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vânderson Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Durval Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Viana having to interfere. A hard shot 11 in the game by Aloísio Fernandez from a close distance when the talented Dudu Viana managed to make a qualified save. Montes Claros FC's players were relieved. If Durval Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cícero Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Tuneiras's Augusto Vidal got a free kick in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léo Sampaio in the 26th minute of play forced Tuneiras's goalkeeper Vânderson Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cícero Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Valle having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Tuneiras got a freekick which was hit by Geovanni Nóbrega. Vânderson Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero Fonseca in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Aloísio Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tuneiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aloísio Fernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Cícero Fonseca notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tuneiras's Vânderson Valle. Vânderson Valle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cícero Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pedro Augusto Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Cícero Fonseca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vânderson Valle having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Tuneiras's zone, Amadeu Dante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vânderson Valle came out of the goal and Amadeu Dante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dudu Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval Leme, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Yuri Tasso hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Amadeu Dante succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 63rd playminute. With an all-out effort, Montes Claros FC's Vânderson Valle threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cícero Fonseca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Aloísio Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu Dante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tuneiras's goalkeeper Vânderson Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olívio Sena's late challenge caught a Montes Claros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olívio Sena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, Tuneiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olívio Sena to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Montes Claros FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
