In the 11th minute Eliseu Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Gabriel Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 played minutes San Pauli FC got a freekick which was hit by André de Sousa. Luiz Fernando Mazza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Bruno Quadros made a huge save. Ciro Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Tiago Gabriel Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Ciro Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Eliseu Fernandes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiago Gabriel Gerber was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Bruno Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedé Lara in the 26th minute of the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Dedé Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Pauli FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedé Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciro Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fernando Mazza got free with Bruno Quadros in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ciro Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tiago Gabriel Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, Yugoslavia Legacy's Décio Pires tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedé Lara in the 43rd minute of play forced Yugoslavia Legacy's goalkeeper Bruno Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiago Gabriel Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Valle in the 45th minute of play. 48 minutes into the game, San Pauli FC's Luiz Fernando Mazza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Quadros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dedé Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marco Vargas's late challenge caught a San Pauli FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Vargas helped the player get up and apologised. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Tiago Gabriel Gerber successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Yugoslavia Legacy getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Décio Pires hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, André de Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After having played for 74 minutes, Eliseu Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yugoslavia Legacy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Eriberto Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Pauli FC's protests and gave Eriberto Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. After 82 played minutes San Pauli FC got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Maciel. If Luiz Fernando Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciro Valle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiago Gabriel Gerber having to make a save. After 98 minutes San Pauli FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Décio Pires who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Ezequiel Bertassi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but San Pauli FC's Tiago Gabriel Gerber did a great save.
