In the 45th minute, Michel Salgado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adelino de Castro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After 56th play minutes Fernandinho Carvalho shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Adelino de Castro and just under the crossbar into goal. Adelino de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Leite in the 61st minute of play. Adelino de Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from José Carlos Gomes went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. If Fernandinho Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adelino de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrinho Secco in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Itupiranga's Michel Salgado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Adelino de Castro. Adelino de Castro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. When Carlos Augusto Corrêa fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Votuporanga Victory's protests and gave Carlos Augusto Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Votuporanga Victory was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Augusto Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Cléberson da Silveira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Votuporanga Victory's Adelino de Castro didn't even have to move. 84 minutes into the match, Votuporanga Victory's goal looked a bit too open when José Carlos Gomes came free, but Adelino de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Itupiranga's Cléberson da Silveira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Adelino de Castro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 93rd minute, Fernandinho Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adelino de Castro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. The Itupiranga players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
