The audience thought a goal was coming when Murillo Dantas got free with Evandro de Amorim in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Evandro das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Nova Hera Fenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro das Neves couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wágner Urbano in the 19th minute of play forced Trancogo's goalkeeper Evandro de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murillo Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes, Evandro das Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Hera Fenix and the Trancogo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes Nova Hera Fenix got a freekick which was hit by Evandro das Neves. If Rubinho Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wágner Urbano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Trancogo's zone, Evandro das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evandro de Amorim came out of the goal and Evandro das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rubinho Cardozo's late challenge caught a Nova Hera Fenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubinho Cardozo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd match minute, Trancogo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubinho Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. Trancogo's Evandro de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Urbano in the 71st minute of play.
