In the 10th of the match, Tiago Mattos tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Richard Dracena got in the way and made a wonderful save. Yuri Lopes might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joélson Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yuri Lopes ran back to his position shaking his head. Cacá Cerezos short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Richard Dracena to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cacá Cerezo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 20th playminute. In the 41st minute, Cesinha Hoffmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute Cacá Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Languiru SS's Richard Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Cerezo in the 54th minute of play. When Benjamim Romero fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Languiru SS's protests and gave Benjamim Romero a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pompeiro booed when Languiru SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cacá Cerezo in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Dracena saved Languiru SS from getting behind. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pompeiro reached it. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Pompeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Cesinha Hoffmann came free, but Joélson Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Benjamim Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Languiru SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamim Romero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joélson Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute, Benjamim Romero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joélson Saldanha was a little too slow when Cesinha Hoffmann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 2-2. Wágner de Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Richard Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cacá Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
