Spectators: 5100 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After a defensive mix-up in Caiteuara SC's zone, Dino Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dito Arantes came out of the goal and Dino Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ademar Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th match minute, Betim FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Antunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute of the match Rui Moraes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osvaldinho Borges showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 8 played minutes Rui Moraes shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Betim FC's Osvaldinho Borges to catch but Rui Moraes was lucky. It became 1-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. With a little luck, Betim FC's Osvaldinho Borges got control of the ball when Jean de Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean de Andrade got free with Osvaldinho Borges in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geovanni Campidelis's late challenge caught a Betim FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geovanni Campidelis helped the player get up and apologised. Dito Arantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 40th minute Geovanni Campidelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Caiteuara SC's Jean de Andrade slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Osvaldinho Borges. That made the score 3-0 after 44 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Campidelis in the 75th minute of play forced Betim FC's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Sidnei Lopez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
