Spectators: 7064 (Terracing: 5407, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) Pompeiro's Tiago Mattos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Tiago Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute, Cauã Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiago Mattos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Osvaldinho Borges came out and tried to block the shot, but Tiago Mattos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 12th minute. In the 19th match minute, Pompeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauã Araújo to maneuver through the defense. Pompeiro's Joélson Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidnei Lopez in the 26th minute of play. Cacá Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Borges having to interfere. Sidnei Lopez's late challenge caught a Pompeiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidnei Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Betim FC's Sidnei Lopez got a free kick in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cacá Cerezo got free with Osvaldinho Borges in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Pompeiro's zone, Ademar Vidal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joélson Saldanha came out of the goal and Ademar Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Betim FC's Osvaldinho Borges proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Betim FC from getting a goal against them. Osvaldinho Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Mattos in the 48th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Dino Cardoso made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pompeiro's goalkeeper Joélson Saldanha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joélson Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Cardoso in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to Betim FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Jeremias Maranhense hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Betim FC defense, Luís Diniz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldinho Borges. The Betim FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldinho Borges should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Pompeiro getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Cacá Cerezo hit a great ball. If Sidnei Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 78 minutes into the game, Cauã Araújo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Osvaldinho Borges was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pompeiro's Cacá Cerezo got his second yellow card of the match in the 81st minute. The referee ordered Cacá Cerezo off the ground. In the 81st minute, Cacá Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ademar Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Pompeiro's Luís Diniz got a free kick in the 88th minute. Joélson Saldanha made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Ademar Vidal sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 93 minutes, Ademar Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Betim FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar Vidal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Betim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cauã Araújo came free, but Osvaldinho Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pompeiro's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
