An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Gomes in the 40th minute of play forced Betim FC's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

That made the score 1-6 after 83 minutes of play. 87 minutes into the game, Braz's Maurício Gomes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldinho Borges made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. In the 91st match minute, Braz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Gomes to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Frédson Koehler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
