Décio Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís de Mendonça in the 20th minute of play. If Edson Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Hílton Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Itaipu FPRMZ's Décio Brodel got control of the ball when Nando de Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Posses players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Itaipu FPRMZ were winning 0-1.
