An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Mendonça in the 5th minute of play forced Império Alviverde's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vânderson Mendonça received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The supporters of Império Alviverde booed when Camboapina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Ramiro Cerezo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Paulo Couto skillfully saved the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Império Alviverde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão Romero to maneuver through the defense. After 64 minutes of play, Camboapina's Caco Soeiro made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Roberto Paraibano was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 68th minute, Olavo Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 70 minutes, Olavo Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Camboapina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Vânderson Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Camboapina's supporters rose to their feet, but Vânderson Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Roberto Paraibano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Olavo Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Paraibano having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Olavo Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Camboapina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Camboapina's Vânderson Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Império Alviverde's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Toscano came free, but Zé Roberto Paraibano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Camboapina were the better team. Camboapina's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
