In the 4th minute Francisco Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Matías Neiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estrella Suiza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iguarassu EC the free kick. In the 6th match minute, Estrella Suiza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matías Neiva to maneuver through the defense. After 11 minutes, Luiz Guilherme Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estrella Suiza and the Iguarassu EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Luiz Guilherme Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Franklin Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé de Andrade in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Iguarassu EC's goalkeeper Rui Cavalcante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raphael Oliveira. If Raphael Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Orlando Meira put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Estrella Suiza:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Iguarassu EC:s goal. José Vítor Arce walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 39 played minutes Iguarassu EC got a freekick which was hit by Dedé de Andrade. Benjamim de Castro struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Franklin Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iguarassu EC. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Francisco Berger made the kick off in the second half. Francisco Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Silveira having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Berger in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franklin Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dedé de Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Alexsandro da Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estrella Suiza's protests and gave Alexsandro da Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. Franklin Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamim de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Raphael Oliveira scored 1-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui Cavalcante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 81st minute Francisco Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matías Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
