The audience thought a goal was coming when Lauro Aguiar got free with Sidnei Barbosa in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lauro Aguiar's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sidnei Barbosa firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Flarania booed when Philadelphia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Hílton Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Edgard Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Philadelphia's goal looked a bit too open when André Freitas came free, but Hílton Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Philadelphia getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Vladimir Matos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percival Paulista in the 23rd minute of play forced Flarania's goalkeeper Sidnei Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If André Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hílton Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Souza in the 33rd minute of the match. Ciro Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erivaldo Terra in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hílton Vander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute, Ciro Souza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flarania fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 70th match minute, Flarania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilmar Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. Lauro Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valdemar Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Percival Paulista took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sidnei Barbosa. Sidnei Barbosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Sidnei Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival Paulista in the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, André Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flarania's supporters rose to their feet, but André Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hílton Vander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Philadelphia's Vladimir Matos got a free kick in the 91st minute. If Ciro Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Flarania supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Flarania would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
