After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Rodrigo Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muriaé FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodrigo Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark Molin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guto Coelho lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 37th minute Cléberson Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Molin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Perez scored 2-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mark Molin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabs Football Club's Cleiton Valadares couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Muriaé FC. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cléberson Pimenta to make the kick off. Evandro Saraiva kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 55 minutes Gabs Football Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Serafim Queiroz who took care of the corner kick. If Cléberson Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João de Godoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Cerezo in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Marcos Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gabs Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Cerezo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 73 played minutes Gabs Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Recife. If Cléberson Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João de Godoi made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Evandro Saldanha sent off a good shot on target. In the 82nd match minute, Muriaé FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Arce to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Gabs Football Club were awarded a corner. Cleiton Valadares went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 90th minute Enio Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Molin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes Muriaé FC got a freekick which was hit by Enio Arce. With his leg João de Godoi managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Gabs Football Club's Marcos Cerezo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marcos Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
