After 7 played minutes Muriaé FC got a freekick which was hit by Enio Arce. João de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didi Quadros in the 8th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Paulo Koehler in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João de Godoi saved Muriaé FC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matheus Macedo during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th minute, one of RAFA JUNIORS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for RAFA JUNIORS. Ruy de Sena had in the 17thth minute some difficulties stopping Serafim Queiroz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ruy de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléberson Pimenta in the 18th minute of play. Muriaé FC's Rodrigo Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cléberson Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rodrigo Perez came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Muriaé FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Perez couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, RAFA JUNIORS's Cristiano Braga got a free kick in the 24th minute. If Cléberson Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enio Arce struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Ruy de Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Muriaé FC. 35 minutes into the game, José Paulo Koehler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. João de Godoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. RAFA JUNIORS's Ruy de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléberson Pimenta in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the RAFA JUNIORS defense, Rodrigo Perez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruy de Sena. The RAFA JUNIORS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruy de Sena should have stopped the shot. In the 47th match minute, Muriaé FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Arce to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The supporters of Muriaé FC booed when RAFA JUNIORS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Muriaé FC's Serafim Queiroz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. José Paulo Koehler struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. João de Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RAFA JUNIORS. Ruy de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Ruy de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléberson Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, João Vítor Terra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cléberson Pimenta scored 2-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruy de Sena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 78th minute of the match, José Paulo Koehler got a very nice opportunity to score, but João de Godoi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 82 minutes into the match, RAFA JUNIORS's Didi Quadros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João de Godoi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 85 played minutes RAFA JUNIORS got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Xavier. Muriaé FC's Rodrigo Perez managed to work through RAFA JUNIORS's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rodrigo Perez dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Cléberson Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muriaé FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléberson Pimenta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruy de Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Augusto Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
