Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) Rômulo Sergipano started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Acácio Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho Siqueira having to interfere. After 5 played minutes Castanhao SS got a freekick which was hit by Cauã Favoretto. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Acácio Leal in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardinho Siqueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ricardinho Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Cunha in the 11th minute of the match. Rômulo Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Abelardo Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rômulo Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Castanhao SS booed when A.D São Caetano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute of the match Vivaldo Couto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardinho Siqueira skillfully saved the ball. When Vivaldo Couto fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castanhao SS's protests and gave Vivaldo Couto a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Castanhao SS! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rômulo Sergipano in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Bueno saved Castanhao SS from getting behind. When Acácio Leal came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Castanhao SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Acácio Leal couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Acácio Leal made a kick off. A.D São Caetano's Ricardinho Siqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Acácio Leal in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Acácio Leal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ricardinho Siqueira. The goal made the score 0-1. Ricardinho Siqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Acácio Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 67 minutes, Mauro Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanhao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mauro Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, A.D São Caetano's Ricardinho Siqueira got control of the ball when Mauro Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, A.D São Caetano's Rômulo Sergipano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abelardo Bueno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Mauro Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanhao SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardinho Siqueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Rômulo Sergipano came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the A.D São Caetano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rômulo Sergipano couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, A.D São Caetano's Rômulo Sergipano got a free kick in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Sergipano in the 88th minute of play forced Castanhao SS's goalkeeper Abelardo Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.D São Caetano's zone, Acácio Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardinho Siqueira came out of the goal and Acácio Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 96 minutes of play, A.D São Caetano's Rômulo Sergipano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abelardo Bueno was left in no man's land by his defense there! Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
