After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, José Paulo Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot. RAFA JUNIORS's supporters rose to their feet, but José Paulo Koehler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guga Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Quadros in the 19th minute of play forced PONTE PRETA's goalkeeper Guga Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in RAFA JUNIORS's zone, Marcinho Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruy de Sena came out of the goal and Marcinho Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute, Oscar Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Quadros in the 27th minute of play forced PONTE PRETA's goalkeeper Guga Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guga Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If José Paulo Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind PONTE PRETA's goalkeeper Guga Goiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Paulo Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 47 minutes into the match, RAFA JUNIORS's goal looked a bit too open when Dieguinho Rosado came free, but Ruy de Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oscar Velasco made a kick off. Didi Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Goiano having to interfere. If Didi Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Paulo Koehler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Guga Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes in the game, Didi Quadros fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Guga Goiano having to interfere. A collision led to PONTE PRETA getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Marcinho Soares hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, RAFA JUNIORS's Guga Goiano threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Didi Quadros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. PONTE PRETA's Guga Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi Quadros in the 82nd minute of play. RAFA JUNIORS's José Paulo Koehler got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
