After 20 minutes, Anderson Trancoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chatinho EC and the Petróleo EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Cristóvão Corrêa came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Petróleo EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Corrêa couldn't finish the play. If Cristóvão Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, Petróleo EC's José Maria Ramos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Carneiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 32 played minutes, Petróleo EC's Marcel Marquez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Carneiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Petróleo EC reached it. José Maria Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ricardo Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Maria Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. José Maria Ramos's late challenge caught a Chatinho EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

When Petróleo EC's José Maria Ramos in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chatinho EC's goalie prevented a goal. Petróleo EC's Simão Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cristóvão Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Maria Ramos in the 56th minute of play forced Chatinho EC's goalkeeper Ricardo Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simão Vaz struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Ricardo Carneiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petróleo EC. If Cristóvão Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Chatinho EC's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Ramos came free, but Ricardo Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, Christiano Fantini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Carneiro came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Petróleo EC's José Maria Ramos. But to his dismay, José Maria Ramos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Simão Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes into the game, João Paulo Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Petróleo EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chatinho EC the free kick. João Paulo Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Amadeu Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
