Roger Proença's late challenge caught a Chakkall TTDS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Proença helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Petróleo EC's Roger Proença got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute Valdemar Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Petróleo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson Cardozo came free, but Amadeu Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Valdemar Soeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeu Sanches was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Celso Cardozo was a little too slow when José Maria Ramos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. Marcel Marquez hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Francisco Freitas fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petróleo EC's protests and gave Francisco Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. 28 minutes into the game, one of Petróleo EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Chakkall TTDS. Carlos Fernando Capixaba stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amadeu Sanches. 1-1. After 33 minutes, Cristóvão Corrêa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Petróleo EC and the Chakkall TTDS players grew even worse after the yellow card. José Maria Ramos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Celso Cardozo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Celso Cardozo made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when José Maria Ramos sent off a good shot on target. José Maria Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Celso Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55thth minute of the game José Maria Ramos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chakkall TTDS's Celso Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 62nd match minute, Petróleo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Carioca to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute of the match Marcel Marquez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celso Cardozo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Petróleo EC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. José Maria Ramos hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Chakkall TTDS's Maurinho Vianna got a free kick in the 67th minute. Petróleo EC's José Maria Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Paulo Marinho struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Celso Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petróleo EC. Celso Cardozo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from José Maria Ramos went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Celso Cardozo came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Petróleo EC's José Maria Ramos. But to his dismay, José Maria Ramos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Celso Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Ramos in the 90th minute of play. In the 93rdth minute of the game José Maria Ramos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chakkall TTDS's Celso Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Petróleo EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
