César Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Custódio, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 36 minutes into the game, William Custódio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. César Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Clube Bahia's zone, Gilson Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Esteves came out of the goal and Gilson Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jean Borges blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Esteves having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joélson Baptista during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Esporte Clube Bahia getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Joélson Baptista hit a great ball. Artur Trigo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedro Esteves. Esporte Clube Bahia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Danilo Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
