Pedro Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Xavier in the 4th minute of play. Vito Freire received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Esteves came out and tried to block the shot, but Vito Freire slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. The supporters of Esporte Clube Bahia booed when EE LEMENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doni Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, EE LEMENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Leal came free, but Américo Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vito Freire's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pedro Esteves firmly grabbed it by the left post. 18 minutes into the match, William Custódio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Américo Borges. EE LEMENSE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Custódio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Pedro Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kauã Fontes in the 29th minute of the match. Pedro Esteves had great luck who in the 33rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Felipe Xavier from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Vito Freires short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Pedro Esteves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 36thth minute of the game Felipe Xavier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esporte Clube Bahia's Pedro Esteves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vito Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Pedro Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Clube Bahia's zone, Vito Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Esteves came out of the goal and Vito Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felipe Xavier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, EE LEMENSE's Vito Freire sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Esteves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 2-1 became the score in the 56th minute when Felipe Xavier elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 59th match minute, Esporte Clube Bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Custódio to maneuver through the defense. After 60 minutes of play, EE LEMENSE's Vito Freire made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Esteves was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felipe Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vito Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Felipe Xavier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Esteves having to make a save. Vito Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Pedro Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Vito Freire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Esteves was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. In the 77th minute Felipe Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vito Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Clube Bahia's zone, Vito Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Esteves came out of the goal and Vito Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Esporte Clube Bahia defense, Felipe Xavier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Esteves. The Esporte Clube Bahia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Esteves should have stopped the shot. After having played for 92 minutes, Vito Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EE LEMENSE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vito Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. EE LEMENSE had played much better football throughout.
