Denílson Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Waldir Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Araújo in the 6th minute of play. Vânderson da Costa's late challenge caught a Corinthians Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vânderson da Costa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th minute, Vânderson da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute of the match Nando Brodel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Waldir Lucas skillfully saved the ball. Jano Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Donatello having to interfere. Denílson Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Waldir Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alexandrita SS's goalkeeper Waldir Lucas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jano Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Carlinhos Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Corinthians Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Madureira came free, but Carlinhos Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Jano Negri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlinhos Donatello was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Nildo Madureira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlinhos Donatello. That made the score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. Carlinhos Donatello made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Jano Negri sent off a good shot on target. Benjamin Ferraz hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Artur do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artur do Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Waldir Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waldir Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denílson Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Corinthians Esporte Clube's Denílson Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artur do Valle to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur do Valle in the 55th minute of play forced Alexandrita SS's goalkeeper Waldir Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alexandrita SS's goalkeeper Waldir Lucas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Claudinei da Silveira hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Carlinhos Donatello came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Alexandrita SS's Jano Negri. But to his dismay, Jano Negri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Waldir Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur do Valle in the 73rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alexandrita SS's zone, Artur do Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir Lucas came out of the goal and Artur do Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Artur do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur do Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Denílson Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Alexandrita SS had won after a very even match.
