Rio Amazonas Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateus Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlinhos Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 60 played minutes Rio Amazonas Club got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Porto. 66 minutes into the game, Elder Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Regatas Brasil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio Amazonas Club the free kick. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Clube Regatas Brasil! José Carlos Castro placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Clube Regatas Brasil's Carlinhos Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Ribeiro in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Ribeiro in the 85th minute of play forced Clube Regatas Brasil's goalkeeper Carlinhos Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
