A collision led to Alexandrita SS getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Nildo Madureira hit a great ball. If Perivaldo de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Luisinho Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Barcellos booed when Alexandrita SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 minutes, Jano Negri made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Barcellos's Christiano de Moraes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nildo Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christiano de Moraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jano Negri's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Willian Figueiredo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Nildo Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Christiano de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Válbson Massa charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Válbson Massa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Nildo Madureira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano de Moraes having to interfere. Barcellos's Christiano de Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Barcellos from getting a goal against them. Nildo Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Christiano de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandrita SS's Jano Negri got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Adalberto Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waldir Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Maia in the 71st minute of the match. In the 72nd minute Perivaldo de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo de Carvalho in the 73rd minute of play. Adalberto Maia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldir Lucas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Pedro Cordeiro's late challenge caught a Barcellos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Cordeiro helped the player get up and apologised. Waldir Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo de Carvalho in the 77th minute of the match. Nildo Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jano Negri hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Waldir Lucas came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcellos's Adalberto Maia. But to his dismay, Adalberto Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Barcellos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Alexandrita SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Alexandrita SS.
