Francisco Medeiros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luís Guilherme Rosado. Marfinzeiro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vinícius Mello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Guilherme Rosado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to Marfinzeiro getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Paulo Carneiro hit a great ball. Sampaio Corrêa FC's Vinícius Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Vinícius Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Guilherme Rosado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Carneiro during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute of the match Wesley Cardozo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Guilherme Rosado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 50 minutes, Celsinho de Salles made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Marfinzeiro's Luís Guilherme Rosado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Linhares in the 70th minute of play forced Sampaio Corrêa FC's goalkeeper Lenílson Mandrak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Celsinho de Salles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Luís Guilherme Rosado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Osmar Xavier charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osmar Xavier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sampaio Corrêa FC's goalkeeper Lenílson Mandrak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marfinzeiro's Luís Guilherme Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinícius Mello in the 86th minute of play. Celsinho de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Rosado having to interfere. Vinícius Mello received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luís Guilherme Rosado came out and tried to block the shot, but Vinícius Mello slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 97th minute.
