Spectators: 6665 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lauro Secco started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dito Queiroz in the 5th minute of play forced Fortaleza's goalkeeper Ricardinho Albuquerque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percival Terra struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Ricardinho Albuquerque didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Queda. In the 7th minute, Joaquim Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Fortaleza's Fernandão Jacinto got a free kick in the 8th minute. Lauro Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Benjamim Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardinho Tasso's late challenge caught a Fortaleza's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardinho Tasso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Bernardinho Tasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Queda's goalkeeper Benjamim Trancoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Paulo Tróia. Ricardinho Albuquerque made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Terra in the 21st minute of play. In the 29th minute Percival Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Albuquerque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fortaleza's Ricardinho Albuquerque played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Queiroz in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fortaleza's zone, Percival Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardinho Albuquerque came out of the goal and Percival Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luís Paulo Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamim Trancoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Queda played a much better game than Fortaleza and deserved their victory. The Fortaleza players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
