Spectators: 6654 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lauro Secco took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ricardinho Albuquerque didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmir França went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luís Paulo Tróia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Geovani Velasco made a huge save. After some careless play in the Fortaleza defense, Walmir França kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardinho Albuquerque. The Fortaleza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardinho Albuquerque should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walmir França in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardinho Albuquerque prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the match, Jaboty's goalkeeper Geovani Velasco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Paulo Tróia. Walmir França struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Ricardinho Albuquerque didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaboty. After a rather tough play, Jaboty's Naldo Gerber got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Lauro Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Fortaleza's goal looked a bit too open when Walmir França came free, but Ricardinho Albuquerque reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Walmir França was the one to do the kick off. Luís Paulo Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricardinho Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Naldo Gerber came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Jaboty fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naldo Gerber couldn't finish the play. Walmir França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaboty's Geovani Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lauro Secco in the 62nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaboty's Naldo Gerber slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricardinho Albuquerque. That made the score 0-3 after 73 minutes of play. Geovani Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardinho Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir França, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Ademar Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Jaboty could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Fortaleza throughout the match.
