Velo Clube's zone, Tiago Gabriel Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agostinho Rezende came out of the goal and Tiago Gabriel Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiago Gabriel Nogueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Agostinho Rezende having to make a save. A. D. CONFIANÇA's Edmundo Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roger Leme in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Agostinho Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Roger Leme came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the A. D. CONFIANÇA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Leme couldn't finish the play. After 33 minutes, Alexandre Diniz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A. D. CONFIANÇA and the A.E. Velo Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexandre Diniz hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Agostinho Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiago Gabriel Nogueira in the 35th minute. Erik Magalhães's late challenge caught a A. D. CONFIANÇA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erik Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. André Luiz Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Rezende having to interfere. A.E. Velo Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Roger Leme scored to the left of an out of position Agostinho Rezende, making the score, 1-0.

When Yan Freire came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the A.E. Velo Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yan Freire couldn't finish the play. Afonsinho Bertassi might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabiano Antunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Afonsinho Bertassi ran back to his position shaking his head. After 62 played minutes A. D. CONFIANÇA got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Gabriel Nogueira. Roger Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Tiago Gabriel Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Tiago Gabriel Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. A. D. CONFIANÇA's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Gabriel Nogueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agostinho Rezende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roger Leme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raúl Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Rezende having to interfere. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind A.E. Velo Clube's goalkeeper Agostinho Rezende, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Agostinho Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Leme in the 83rd minute of the match. When Raúl Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the A. D. CONFIANÇA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Mesquita couldn't finish the play. The supporters of A.E. Velo Clube booed when A. D. CONFIANÇA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Gabriel Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Rezende having to interfere. Despite being the better team, A. D. CONFIANÇA failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
